Survey finds email life cycle management critical

Meanwhile, 71 percent said that their IT departments were looking for more cost-effective email lifecycle management solutions, while 57 percent were looking to adopt new services sometime in the next year. 'The results reveal a shift in the perception of email management - not only its implicit importance, but the explicit need for serving communication needs as well as compliance and regulatory requirements," IDG researchers said in a statement. Survey respondents named business continuity as the biggest driver behind email management strategy at 74 percent of respondents, followed by disaster recovery at 72 percent, compliance with state, federal or industry regulations at 69 percent, eliminating email downtime at 64 percent and legal preparation or eDiscovery at 62 percent.
